Get to Know Your Superpowers - Leaning into Your Strengths

Let’s have a real talk about something that's often overlooked but absolutely crucial for our success: finding and embracing our business superpowers.

Now, I get it – buzzwords like "zone of genius" and "superpowers" can sound a bit cheesy. I used to roll my eyes at them too. But once I dug deeper and truly understood what they meant for me and my business, it completely transformed the way I operate – and I know it can do the same for you.

When you're just starting out in your career or building your own business, it's natural to want to be good at everything. After all, necessity often demands that we wear multiple hats and handle a myriad of tasks. But as we gain experience and self-awareness, it becomes increasingly important to recognize our strengths – and our limitations.

So, what exactly are business superpowers? They're the unique talents, skills, and passions that set you apart from the crowd – the things you excel at effortlessly and feel truly passionate about. Whether it's your knack for asking insightful questions, your talent for brainstorming innovative ideas, or your ability to craft cohesive strategies, these are the strengths that make you truly shine.

Embracing your superpowers isn't bragging – it's about being honest with yourself and others about where you excel. It's about recognizing that you have unique gifts to offer the world and leaning into them wholeheartedly.

By focusing on your strengths, you can not only achieve greater success but also find greater fulfillment in your work.

Okay… But what about your weaknesses? We all have them. And that's okay. The key is not to dwell on our weaknesses or try to fix them at the expense of our strengths. Instead, it's about acknowledging them, accepting them, and finding ways to work around them.

I’ll use myself as an example. My superpowers include asking questions, brainstorming new ideas, and crafting cohesive strategies. On the flip side, I struggle with attention to detail and getting into the nitty-gritty of small tasks. For a while, I tried to do it all – and it left me feeling overwhelmed and unfulfilled.

But when I got real with myself about what I was good at and what I wasn't, everything changed. I stopped trying to be good at everything and started focusing on my strengths. I communicated my strengths to my clients and partners, and it made a world of difference.

Suddenly, I was able to do more, better.

Now, I'm at a crossroads in my own business where I'm becoming the bottleneck. I recognize that I need support – not in the areas where I excel, but in the areas where I struggle. So, instead of swimming upstream to fix my weaknesses, I'm bringing on people who can complement my strengths and fill in the gaps.

It's been beyond empowering. Because instead of trying to do it all, I can focus on what I do best – supporting my clients, coming up with new ideas, and setting the direction of the business. So I encourage you to take a moment to reflect on your own business superpowers.

What are you truly great at? What sets your soul on fire? Lean into those strengths, embrace them, and watch as they propel you further. And remember – it's okay to ask for help. In fact, it's often the smartest thing you can do.

Here's to unlocking your business superpowers and building the business of your dreams.
